Yubelky Rodríguez is a spoken-word poet, playwright, painter, artist that was raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn. Moved passionately by Euripides' Medea, she decided to write an adaptation; set in the present time with an urban, hip-hop, and spoken-word poetry taste, she is creating a new color and spicy flavor to the original version of the play. She has been performing poetry throughout the NYC metro area for roughly 4 years and has participated in theatrical work for over 7. She graduated cum-laude from Cornell University with a B.A. in Spanish and Comparative Literature with a concentration in Latin American Literature/Studies. Yubelky is also a painter that has participated in the creation of several murals throughout Brooklyn.
